By Brenda Garrard-Forster 1 min read

A new version of the Fixed Term Contract Information Statement has been released following recent changes to the additional fixed term contract exceptions.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Since 6 December 2023, the use of fixed term contracts has been limited, including how long they can run, how often they can be renewed, and how many consecutive contracts can be issued for the same role.

There are some exceptions to these limitations, particularly for certain industries and roles. However, changes to these additional exceptions will apply from 01 November 2025, including:
โœ… Ending temporary exceptions for some sectors
โœ… Extending temporary exceptions for others (until 01 November 2026) with additional requirements
โœ… Making some exceptions ongoing

๐Ÿ’ก The new FTCIS reflects these updates and must be provided to all new fixed term employees from 01 November 2025 onwards.

Employers are reminded to issue the latest version of the FTCIS when entering into any new fixed term contract.
