๐ข Key Workplace & Payroll Updates for FY 2025โ26
A number of important changes came into effect from 01 July 2025 that employers need to be across:
๐น National Minimum Wage Increase
The National Minimum Wage and all modern award minimum rates have increased by 3.5%.
โก๏ธ New NMW: $24.95 per hour or $948 per week
Applies from the first full pay period on or after 01 July 2025.
๐น Superannuation Guarantee Rate Increase
The super guarantee rate has increased from 11.5% to 12%. The final scheduled increase.
๐ก This rate must apply to all wages paid on or after 01 July, even if the pay period started before then.
Also from 01 July, the ATO will begin paying superannuation on government-funded Paid Parental Leave (as part of the Paid Parental Leave Superannuation Contribution).
๐น Victorian Payroll Tax-Free Threshold Raised
The payroll tax-free threshold in Victoria has increased from $900,000 to $1 million.

This removes payroll tax for thousands of small businesses across the state.
๐น WorkCover Premiums
No change here. The Victorian WorkCover average premium rate remains at 1.8%, for the third consecutive year.
